Tours with Coeur d’Alene Cruise are a great way to see wildlife, get some sun and view some spectacular north Idaho sunsets on the water. But did you know our cruises also offer a peek into some of the area’s most famous history?
When you cruise with us, you’ll get an insider’s peak at The Floating Green, one of the world’s most unique, highly ranked golf greens. The green is exactly what the name says, floating just off-shore where golf newbies and enthusiasts alike can tee off, trying their luck at hitting a hole-in-one on the famous course.
Seeing the course from the water is a rewarding experience, giving the viewer a full picture of what the green looks like and how beautiful the grounds really are.
The Floating Green was founded in 1991, after Duane Hagadone, founder of the Coeur d’Alene Resort, had a vision for the project while walking his dog.
Golfers tee off from land, and once their ball reaches the floating course, they are whisked away to the manicured green via a sleek mahogany boat.
So whether you’re a golf enthusiast or a history buff, seeing the full Floating Green is a treat for everyone.

And don’t worry; we’re working on that controlling the weather thing. We think 2015 will be the best summer yet!
The first time that summer sun starts to heat up and peak through the clouds, everyone in North Idaho is out and about, trying to catch just a hint of that spring warmth. We know, we’re doing it too! Any excuse to get out of the office and into that sunshine, we’ll take it! And after the gloomy, gray northwest winters, can you blame us?
However, now is not the time to go frolicking about without a care in the world. The sun is out, which means there’s still a chance for sunburn and over-exposure to ultra violet rays. Regardless if you’re on a cruise or playing on the beach, here are some quick tips to stay safe this year!
Even though the rays may seem weak when it’s not sweltering out, long exposure to the sun can cause serious damage over time. A quick layer of sunscreen before you spend time outside can prevent both long- and short-term damage— think beginning of the season sunburn!
Yes, we’d like to start wearing shorts and tank tops too, but a light layer can also help protect you from sun exposure.
While you’re playing in the sun, make sure you’re taking regular break to drink water. It is recommended to drink eight glasses per day, but that number goes up if you’re sweating or working out.
So start your season off right, and stay safe this year. If you’re looking for a plethora of fun things to do this summer, check out our specialty cruises or contact us today!
Our men and women in uniform have given up more than we could ever know. It’s no secret that they deserve to be recognized every day of the year, not just a handful of forgotten holidays here and there.
That’s why, this year, Coeur d’Alene Cruises will be honoring our local veterans throughout the weekend with our special cruise, designed to show our support and admiration for those who served our country.
