Holiday Light Cruises Are Fun For The Whole Family

One of the biggest attractions in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, is the Holiday Light Show. From the scenes and pictures that adorn the famous floating boardwalk to the show at Santa’s workshop, the annual lightshow is a must-see for anyone in north Idaho during the holiday season. And there’s only one way to get a full view of the whole show: with a cruise on one of Coeur d’Alene’s signature ships

The 40 minutes journey cruises across the lake takes in the beautiful sights of the region, and ends in the most magical place of all — the North Pole! Santa, Mrs. Clause and all the elves are excited to greet the guests. The group even sends a special shout-out to the children on board! Children under five years old ride free to experience the magic.

Another special our team offers is our Holiday Lighting Ceremony cruise. The light show has been featured on ABC’s Good Morning America as one of the nation’s best holiday destinations, and the best view is from the water. Tickets are limited each year, so if you want a new, exciting view of the fireworks, caroling, and lighting celebration, give us a call in advance.

A Fresh Venue for Office Parties

It’s getting to that time of year again when many northwestern businesses begin thinking about what to do for a holiday party. Many companies want to celebrate a successful year of hardworking employees, but the regular venues to hold holiday parties have become stale. Been having your holiday party in the same conference room for years? Or maybe this is the first time your office is holding a holiday party, and wants it to wow everyone.

Regardless of the reason, cruise ships are the best new venue for any type of party. Many lake cruise companies offer private charter cruises for parties, which allows you to create a one-of-a-kind atmosphere that guests won’t forget.

The on-the-water setting creates instant elegance without added hassle for the party host.

Besides the beauty of the cruise, the cruise company will have a catering staff on-hand that will take care of all details, including plates, napkins, and clean up. Many times, these teams of professionals can even help you choose a menu, making the event easy on both sides. The team will know what’s in season, what will fit the mood of your event, and what guests have loved in the past.

So when planning your company’s holiday party, consider using Coeur d’Alene Cruises chartered boats as a unique venue. Contact us today!

Coeur d’Alene Cruises helps with the annual Coeur d’Fondo bike tour

At Coeur d’Alene Cruises, we love getting involved in our community. Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, is a tight-knit locale where the beautiful scenery is almost as much fun as participating in area events.

One of the favorites for the Coeur d’Alene Cruises team is the annual Coeur d’Fondo, which is set to take place Sept. 26. The famous bike ride takes riders around beautiful Lake Coeur d’Alene and through the forests along scenic Highway 97 before finishing back in Coeur d’Alene for the fall Oktoberfest in downtown. With this kind of event, you’d be hard pressed to find someone not enjoying the beautiful scenery, good company and fantastic atmosphere.

Coeur d’Alene Cruises is always excited to play our part in the annual event. Our cruise boats are used to shuttle riders to Harrison or back to Coeur d’Alene during the day, and we love to say we’re a part of the festivities! Riders get a full tour of the majestic mountains, sparkling waters and a skyline view of downtown historic Coeur d’Alene. For many riders, the cruise is a pivotal part of what makes the day so memorable.

However, did you know that our cruise boats can also accommodate business meetings, large or small? If your company is looking to host any sort of meeting, training or team building, why settle for a stifling conference room in the basement of a hotel? The two-deck Lake Coeur d’Alene cruises boats are climate-controlled, with picture windows and clear sound systems, which helps to create a wonderful atmosphere on the water. Employees will remember the meeting they had on the beautiful north Idaho lake, and the scenery will help the creativity and teamwork flow. See all of Coeur d’Alene and the famous Floating Green from a new angle

Tours with Coeur d’Alene Cruise are a great way to see wildlife, get some sun and view some spectacular north Idaho sunsets on the water. But did you know our cruises also offer a peek into some of the area’s most famous history?

When you cruise with us, you’ll get an insider’s peak at The Floating Green, one of the world’s most unique, highly ranked golf greens. The green is exactly what the name says, floating just off-shore where golf newbies and enthusiasts alike can tee off, trying their luck at hitting a hole-in-one on the famous course.

Seeing the course from the water is a rewarding experience, giving the viewer a full picture of what the green looks like and how beautiful the grounds really are.

The Floating Green was founded in 1991, after Duane Hagadone, founder of the Coeur d’Alene Resort, had a vision for the project while walking his dog.

Golfers tee off from land, and once their ball reaches the floating course, they are whisked away to the manicured green via a sleek mahogany boat.

So whether you’re a golf enthusiast or a history buff, seeing the full Floating Green is a treat for everyone.

Stay safe this spring and summer!

The first time that summer sun starts to heat up and peak through the clouds, everyone in North Idaho is out and about, trying to catch just a hint of that spring warmth. We know, we’re doing it too! Any excuse to get out of the office and into that sunshine, we’ll take it! And after the gloomy, gray northwest winters, can you blame us?

However, now is not the time to go frolicking about without a care in the world. The sun is out, which means there’s still a chance for sunburn and over-exposure to ultra violet rays. Regardless if you’re on a cruise or playing on the beach, here are some quick tips to stay safe this year!

  • Wear sunscreen
Even though the rays may seem weak when it’s not sweltering out, long exposure to the sun can cause serious damage over time. A quick layer of sunscreen before you spend time outside can prevent both long- and short-term damage— think beginning of the season sunburn!
  • Cover up
Yes, we’d like to start wearing shorts and tank tops too, but a light layer can also help protect you from sun exposure.
  • Stay hydrated
While you’re playing in the sun, make sure you’re taking regular break to drink water. It is recommended to drink eight glasses per day, but that number goes up if you’re sweating or working out.

So start your season off right, and stay safe this year. If you’re looking for a plethora of fun things to do this summer, check out our specialty cruises or contact us today!
